Aaargh, matey!

With Talk Like a Pirate Day almost upon us, this book would be a great source for art projects featuring those fascinating sea-reivers. Dominated by the works of Howard Pyle, George Albert Williams, and the famous "Unknown," here are woodcuts, engravings, oils, watercolors, and pen-and-ink drawings, portraying pirates fighting, burying treasure, enjoying their leisure time, even marooned or hanging from the gallows, along with several handsome portrayals of their ships, most dating from the Golden Age of Illustration, which was also a prime era for books and stories of exotic and/or historic adventure, such as pirates undoubtedly represent. (Several clearly come from various editions of Treasure Island [illustrated, contains maps] [Over 100 illustrations].) Anyone who has a weakness for the piratical will want to have this collection on his shelf.

Liven up you nautical disertations.

I enjoy using the images in any literary attempt I make. Sometimes I use them for CD or DVD labels. They are great for posters for my sailing club. A fair price for nautical images that are not hard to incorporate into your compositions whatever they may be. I have purchased a few of these publications with CDs from Amazon and not been disappointed.
