This was the worst book that I have ever had for a 101 course due to the layout of this book (no highlighted text, etc). To be fair, my opinion is bias because of the difficulty of the Music Therapy class that I attended.

Very clear and thorough

My first (and probably only) music therapy course used this book as it's text. I am a musician, so I'm coming from that perspective. However, there is surprisingly little information on here as far as music skills. The assumption is that those skills are developed outside of this particular class.

The author gets into the specifics of a wide range of disabilities, disorders and conditions. The way the brain processed music is presented in a thorough, yet (relatively) simplistic way. It's a detailed study, and not just a bunch of fun facts, so you have to be ready to take the time to research.

The questions at the end of the chapters provided an excellent review for each class, and the book was well organized. I would certainly recommend both the book, as well as a Music Therapy class to anyone with any interest.

This book is good for reviewing and studying for the music therapy exam after you've finished your program. I skimmed most of it, and passed the exam with flying colors. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants to solidly prepare for the CBMT exam.

A comprehensive handbook, could add more practical tips

The Handbook of Biological Confocal Microscopy is a great collection of essays on a multitude of topics ranging from optics, laser physics and photochemistry to fluorescent labeling of cells and live cell microscopy. The depth of some essays may be beyond the comfortable grasp of a biologist but after all, this is a handbook not a textbook. There is one chapter of general confocal tips, which is very useful but in general the book is aimed more at experts than casual users (not that there's anything wrong with that). Some chapters appear to not have been updated for the last edition and thus sound a touch outdated but this mostly concerns some technical chapters. All in all a very good source of fairly detailed information about (almost) all aspects of biological confocal microscopy.

Comprehensive, but patchy written

It's a good comprehensive reference book on the imaging techniques of year 2005 (by now, the book lost a bit of this "comprehensiveness"). I'd give the book 5 stars, if not the price, for which I expect the editor to work a little more to make the chapters more coherent, correct for, sometimes, heavy language and explanations (it's too clear, the book is written by many different people) and make the book to look less as a tutorial and more as a textbook, with a logical connection between the chapters. Given that I would recommend this book to someone, who needs to go into details of many different topics of microscopy and wants to be sure he doesn't miss anything (as of 2005).

Cute, hot and suspenseful book!

I love Xander! This is one of the MC Books I've ever read!
I finished the book about an hour ago and still have so many feelings about it! I feel like reading it again! The story was written perfectly. I think the pace was fast but that put the story in a whole new level. Usually you need a larger amount of time to get things to happen in a book but the author worked the time and the development of Xander in the best way. She wrote memorable characters, they all had an impact in me. Xander, Gracie, Lily, Dude, and even Hank. And Xander and Gracie are the cutest couple! I seriously want a Xander for myself. I love him and his love for Grace.
At the beggining of the story we meet Xander and Dude beating Hank and I was surprised when I learned why they were doing it. The reasons were so pure and beautiful. I mean, I really though Lily was dumb for letting Hank beat her, but I cannot judge her, her story was a bit complex and I couldn't understand her point of view until the end, and I think it makes sense how she thinks and what she does. Her words really touched me. She expressed her feelings in a beautiful way, I was proud of her and so was Gracie, I think.
Now, about Grace. She's the best female character ever! She's a strong, independant woman who doesn't let anyone pass her over. I love her attitude, all us woman should be like her. She teaches us about how important it is to defend ourselves, to be gentle, and about forgiveness. She is the perfect girl for Xander. And Xander OMG, I truly love him. He is all you need in a bad boy. But he is such a good boy too! He is nice, and gentle, and caring, and so sweet to Grace!. He listens to her, and he is not afraid to admit his feelings towards her, and he is hot, SO HOT! There were steamy scenes and they were so fun and hot and cute, and all the good adjectives you can imagine.

So, the characters were excellent and so was the story! There weren't that many twists like you would have expected but it doesn't matter because the ones there were, were AMAZING. I could never have imagined how the plot was going to turn out, but the way it did WOW, I was amazed... The author really does a great job in this. An excellent job I must say. So thank you Margaret for this beautiful, fun, hot and OH SO PERFECT story
