Part 6 – Disney California Adventure – Cars Land

Cars land is the crowning capst one on DCA’s transformation, and the first major “land” in an American Disney theme park devoted solely to a single film franchise. Tucked in the park’s southeast corner on 12 acres of repurposed parking lot, Cars Land’s main entrance is across from the Golden Vine Winery, though there are secondary gateways in A Bug’s Land and in Pacific Wharf (the vista through the latter’s stone archway entrance is especially scenic). A massive mountainous backdrop topped with 125-foot high peaks patterned after 1950s Cadillac Pinnacle tail fins, known as the Cadillac Range, cradles Ornament Valley, home to a screen-accurate re-creation of Radiator Springs. That’s the sleepy single-stoplight town along Route 66 populated by Pixar’s anthropomorphized automobiles. Along its main drag, in addition to three rides, you’ll find eateries themed to the film’s minor characters and souvenir shops selling Cars-themed and Route 66 merchandise.

Cars Land represents a considerable investment in capital and creativity for the Disney company, resulting in a rare example of complete entertainment immersion. The 1,200 high-pressure water nozzles installed under the surface of DCA’s Paradise Bay are the infrastructure for Disney’s $75-million attempt to keep guests in the park (and spending money) until closing time. If you’ve seen or heard about the spectacular fountain show at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, World of Color—Celebrate! is similar but larger, with more special effects and themed to Disney movies.

Though the original version of World of Color was still wildly popular, in honor of Disneyland’s Diamond Anniversary, it was completely overhauled and given the new subtitle Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Walt Disney. This new special edition of World of Color is explicitly a tribute to Walt Disney, the man and his “dreams of Disneyland,” and incorporates classic animated images with live-action footage of Uncle Walt and a new musical score, along with clips from dozens of Disney films, attractions, and character
in its 22-minute performance.

The show’s backdrop includes Mickey’s Fun Wheel, fitted with special lighting effects for use in the show. Giant projection surfaces sculpted by sprayed water—even larger than those used in Fantasmic!—display custom-made animations, and flamethrowers spew almost enough heat to dry off guests standing in the splash zones. What’s most remarkable about the show is how the flashing colored lights and pulsating fountains combine to look like low-level fireworks. The effects are astounding, and the colors are
vibrant and deep.

World of Color—Celebrate! is hosted by stage and screen star Neil Patrick Harris, and boy, did Disney get their money’s worth with him. NPH (as he’s known to his fans) is in almost every scene of the show. If we had to rank the top four things you’ll see and hear in the show, it’s 1) water, 2) color, 3) Neil Patrick Harris, and 4) the word celebrate. Unfortunately, even if you’re a huge fan of his work as Doogie Howser, Barney Stinson, and/or Hedwig, Harris’s presence crosses the line from conducive host to obtrusive interloper, as he’s awkwardly inserted into stiffly animated sequences and made to sing a mediocre new theme song that isn’t nearly as catchy as the old “Wonderful World of Color” tune.

Updated Information - Very Helpful With Places to Stay and Things to Do

I have been to Disneyland too many times to count. I haven't been for the last few years due to a back surgery but am now planning a trip. I wanted to get some info that was up to date on places to stay, etc... There have been many changes in the last 6 years so I just wanted updated info. There were a couple of tips on places to stay that I found very helpful right off the bat. For someone who has never been or hasn't been in many years, I think this up to date info is well worth the purchase price.

I've been to Disneyland at least 20 times and Disneyworld at least 15. I still buy the latest edition of this book every time - always useful and well updated. It is packed with tips for first-timers and veterans alike. You spend a lot of money on a Disney vacation. Spend the money on this book to make sure you get the most out of your trip.

I really did not think it was possible for me to reduce my weight until I read this book and then met

I did not think it was possible for me to commit to losing the weight I had gained until I met Charles and read his informative book. The thought of giving up certain foods and wine and replacing my diet with the foods I was told to eat by Charles was mind blowing to me and I felt I would be setting myself up for failure. Well, through Charles I was able to surprise myself with a weight lose of 35 pounds to date and I know I will be able to lose the 15 pounds I need to lose to reach my goal. Thank you Charles!

I've had the pleasure of knowing David Mason, D.O. for many years. I treasure this book because it allows me to have a quick reference to viscero-somatic reflexes. I think the sacral dysfunction chart alone is worth having the book.

Great Resource!

Excellent source! This book gives you ICD9 codes, helps you distinguish between 2 minute, 5 minute and extended treatment plans. There are general technique explanations as well as a thorough explanation as to which techniques help with the most common ailments eg asthma, chf, or depression.
Wish I had bought this book earlier in my med school career as it is instrumental for clinical years.

Mr Prechter's latest venture is Elliott Wave International, which provides monthly and intraday analysis on stock markets, currencies, interest rates, commodities and social trends to institutional and private investors around the world.
Mr. Prechter attended Yale University on a full scholarship and graduated in 1971 with a degree in psychology. He began his career as a Technical Market Specialist with the Merrill Lynch Market Analysis Department in New York, where his original work with the Wave Principle led to a small but loyal following, introduction to A.J. Frost and ultimately this book.

A.J. Frost C.F.A., a graduate of Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, started his career as a legal accountant. He achieved his objective on being admitted to the Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1934 and on his call to the Ontario Bar in 1937. In 1959, he was elected a fellow in the Institute for distinguished service to the accountancy profession. He served as Chairman of the National Capital commissions (Canada) for two years and later sat on the bench as a member of the Tax Appeal Board, Tax Review Board and Anti-Inflation Appeal tribunal. He has handed down many decisions in the field of income tax law. During his career, Mr Frost served on two university councils and the boards of several Canadian corporations.
In 1960, Mr. Frost became a partner of the late Hamilton Bolton, who introduced him ot the Elliott Wave Principle. After Bolton's death in 1967, he wrote two Elliott Wave Supplements for the firm of Bolton-Tremblay, the editors of the Bank Credit Analyst. In 1977, Mr Frost delivered a speech on the Elliott Wave Principle before the Market Technicians Associations. There he met Mr. prechter, whom he found to have remarkably compatible ideas despite their separation by two generations and national boundary. Mr. Frost provided weekly market commentary on Financial New Network and was one of the most frequently requested speakers for meetings of the Canadian Society of Technical Analysts.

Kindle edition lacking

My 2 star review is based on the very annoying lack of links in the kindle edition. The authors are frequently referring to charts in the book ( a good thing) but the charts are many times not nearby the current page. The reader is left to manually search for these graphs. A simple hyperlink would have saved the reader from all this inconvenience. Why haven't the editors done it?

Only partly of use and therefore quite expensive

Nice to learn more about Elliot Wave. But it is mainly the first ~80 pages that are of practical use. Nice read though, but quite expensive for a book thats only partly of use for the average trader. Go look for the book of Ramki 5 waves of financial freedom which is cheaper and at least as good imo.

BOON OR BANE?

This book is a double-edged sword. It can either help or harm
you greatly One needs to use it with other TA tools. For e.g.,
if you are lulled into thinking that all bull runs have 3 legs (5 waves),
it can be dangerous because bull runs can have 2 or 4 legs too.

The double zig-zag I read here seems different from other books.

5-3 is chosen as a standard for all to understand. The market
need not be so. Pregnant ladies by an large give birth to one child.
But sometimes, there are twins or more. In the same way,
by and large, EWP holds true with its deviations.

The Higher Calling of Network Marketing Professionals

This book was my introduction to Robert Kiyosaki and one that I've read several times over. Here's why:
Robert Kiyosaki doesn't say he's never been INVOLVED with networking, he has. What he says is he didn't make his fortune from network marketing. There's a big difference. Remember that when reading other reviews.
Robert explains to the reader how his opinion of networking changed (pg. 24) when, in the early 1990's, a well-respected and financially successful friend told Robert he was involved in network marketing. With Roberts past disinterest in networking, Robert didn't understand why a man who just completed over a billion dollars in commercial real estate transaction would be involved in network marketing.
This friend, Bill, went on to explain to Robert exactly what value he found in networking. This was the beginning of the turn-around. Now a financial success, Robert was able to investigate network marketing and clearly see all the true value it has to the motivated individuals. This is why he claims to be "unbiased".
Is this book the only thing you should study if you're considering network marketing? No way! Robert does point out that not all companies are good and among the good ones, not all organizations are good. Take your time and investigate all you can. If someone says you NEED to get started right away, walk away! If it's critical for you to get in today, how will you succeed tomorrow? Take your time.
Another thing Robert mentions in this book is the need to investigate the educational system. Many people claim to have a great training program, but, in actuality it's nothing more than a recommended reading list. If they have conference calls, dial in. If they have seminars, attend one. If they have one on one training, test the waters.
As Robert points out in this book, networking isn't for everyone, but it is a great way to create a passive walk away income that will give you freedoms and options in other investments. That's probably the number one point he makes. You don't need to become a networking guru, but, you can create a secondary income of $1000, $3000, or even $10,000 a month and use that to move into the B and I quadrants.
Open your mind, think of the education, the support from fellow achievers, and the options you'll create. That's the meat of this book.

Book Summary -- Business School

Perhaps best known for his financial education products, Robert Kiyosaki wrote this latest book to praise the benefits of owning a network marketing business. Although Kiyosaki made his wealth traditionally, without the help of a network marketing business, he believes that these businesses are the wave of the future because they embody the new Information Age economy. He believes these businesses are a good way to begin your journey to become rich.

Kiyosaki begins by reviewing the several ways that one may become rich. However, the path offered by his Rich Dad may be the most realistic and also hold the greatest profit potential. Rich Dad's path to success is simple, "build a business first, reinvest in the business second, buy real estate third, and only then buy luxuries paid for by your assets" (98). Most people fail because they lack the discipline and perseverance needed to follow through with the plan. This behavior often characterizes those who lack emotional intelligence. A successful person possesses analytic, financial, and emotion intelligence. Such a person succeeds by understanding that success is accelerated through the process of "rejection and correction."

Kiyosaki prefers network marketing businesses because there exists very few barriers to entry. Those who succeed in network marketing are able to combine their ability to sell and lead with their love for teaching. Kiyosaki writes, "Your job is to clone or duplicate someone just like you" (58). This is what ultimately determines the success of any network marketing business.

When convincing others of the value of a starting a "personal franchise," more commonly known as a network marketing business, be sure to cover several important areas. First, refer to the cashflow quadrant to inspire motivation and provide direction. Second, emphasize wealth rather than income (a.k.a cashflow versus capital gains) by explaining the income statement and balance sheet and how acquiring assets, specifically businesses, is crucial to developing long-term passive revenue streams. Third, introduce Metcalf's Law. Succeeding in a network marketing business demands the practical application of Metcalf's Law, which states that a network's economic value grows exponentially with the number of network users. Fourth, remind others of the fact that network marketing is the fastest growing business model in the world today. Big companies such as AOL Time Warner, Berkshire Hathaway, and Citibank all utilize network marketing. This comes as a surprise to many because network marketing businesses go largely unseen. Finally, emphasize the important of education. When searching for a network marketing business to join, educational opportunities should weigh more importantly in your decision than commissions or products.

an objective view from a former skeptic

At last, a book about "network marketing" that is more than just a bunch of sugary hype. Right from the start, Kiyosaki acknowledges that the network marketing business is not for everyone. He also admits that the industry has had (and will continue to have) a fringe population of greedy and/or crooked hucksters that drive the rest of us crazy and close many minds to its true benefits.
For someone exploring a network marketing opportunity for the first time, this book gives a solid, realistic foundation from which you can chart your course. For all those who have dived into multiple network marketing opportunities looking to make millions in a matter of weeks, and those who have dabbled for a couple of months, grown discouraged and quit, this book is a much-needed wake up call.
The title tells it all -- network marketing is not a "get rich quick" vehicle. Rather, it is a business school where the ultimate goal is personal growth. In this second edition, Kiyosaki presents eleven "hidden values" of a network marketing business. This is the ideal tool to help you look beyond the hype, see the network marketing opportunity for what it really is, and set realistic expectations for your personal success.

About the Author
Kathleen T. McWhorter is professor emerita of humanities and former director of the Learning Skills Center at Niagara County Community College. She has also been on the faculty of the State University College at Buffalo. She is the author of a number of books on writing for freshmen-level students, including the popular guide Successful College Writing, Sixth Edition (Bedford/St. Martin’s, 2015), and the composition reader Reflections: Patterns for Reading and Writing (Bedford/St. Martin’s, 2013).
